TLDR: Can I mix UTF and NH134 to top off my rear differential?
I recently purchased a Ford 4630 turbo diesel and I'm performing general maintenance. The dipstick to the rear differential indicates I need to add fluid. NH/CNHI indicates NH134 fluid is recommended for the power steering, transmission, rear diff, and hydraulics so I picked some up at my local dealer. I'm fairly certain the previous owner used UTF as the fluid that is in there has a different smell and it is clear while the NH134 is red. Can I top the rear diff off with the NH134 or do I need to continue using UTF until it's time to do a complete fluid change? I don't know whether or not these two fluids mix well and I don't want to end up with a soupy mix that I'll need to completely drain and refill. Has anybody tried this?
Thanks in advance.
