I am low on fluid in the front axle (BX25). Will it hurt to add gear oil as I can't get any sudt for a few days.

I don't believe a few days will matter much.

I actually remove the SUDT/UDT front fluid from my tractors' front axles and replace it with 85-140 Shell Spirax because they receive high shock loads in the farm work I do but I've always did that, even with my previous, smaller Kubota's.

Never a failure, leak or concern in the last 15 years.

I changed mine out to 75w/90 synthetic. I think the thicker oil is a lot better for the gears and less of a chance for leaks.

All late model Kubota front drives are hermetically sealed against leakage. I do it solely for shock load.

The U/SUDT will flow better in the winter allowing more power transfer (until the drive is warmed up) but once it's warm, the hypoid provides much better lubrication.

I have been topping mine off with 75w140 since it started leaking a year ago. The oil is mainly used as a lubrication bath so in theory you could drain it all and replace it with just about any oil because the axle is not spinning at a high rate of speed so heat is not much of an issue but due to the loads placed on it I would stick to a gear oil.:)
