Mitsubishi Transmission

I have a Long Landtrac 470 with a Mitsubishi engine and transmission. Trans is 4 speed synchromesh, with high and low range and a creeper with high and low, so 16 speed with a synchromesh shuttle. The transmission will not shift into 1st or 2nd, 3rd and 4th work fine. It does not grind, just will not go into gear. Could it be adjustment? I have looked at the linkage and it appears to be in fine shape, not bent or jammed up. Anything simple I might try? An overhaul means taking all the tin and loader frame off. $2000+ labor, before parts, not sure it is worth it. Sure wish I had high range 1st!

It would be a great help knowing what Mitsubishi engine is in your machine. Otherwise, I can't even make a comment here.

It is a 4 cyl 47hp. Non turbo diesel.

Still doesn't say much of anything. What is the engine ID plate state? Is it a K3x or K4x or SLx or Lxxxx series engine???

Probably a stupid question but did you check the oil level in the transmission ?
About 10 years ago the transmission in my 8N Ford wasn’t shifting properly and when I checked the oil it was about 2 quarts low so I added oil and it’s back to shifting great
