Hello everyone. Happy new year! I have a S750D with a loader on it that we bought at a farm auction a few years ago. I've never used the PTO on it but recently the tractor I usually use for running PTO implements broke and I want to do some brush-hogging with this one. Its stickered on the side of the hood "Live PTO" and the PTO selection lever has 3 positions, OFF (centered), 540rpm (front), and 1100?(back). My issue is, the PTO will not engage without really grinding the gears when there is a load attached to the PTO shaft. It seems like maybe the clutches for the PTO are stuck in the "engaged" position? Pressing the clutch for the drivetrain doesn't affect the PTO. Does anyone on here have experience with the PTO on these tractors and how to operate them? I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if the clutch pack is just stuck and preventing the PTO from engaging smoothly. Someone suggested the tractor has a 2-stage clutch for drivetrain and PTO but that doesn't seem to be the case to me. For now, I'm engaging the PTO with the tractor off and then just starting the tractor (not a great setup but it works).
Thanks
