Hello,
I just picked up a Mitsubishi Buck S470D a few weeks back. It's in really good condition with only 184 hours on it. I'm sure this has been
talked about here before and I did search. I was wondering what finish mower would be best for me to buy for it? I have a local
dealer that sells Woods. He suggested an RC4 or RC3.5. Any brand suggestions are welcome. I have six acres to maintain and the
the grass is currently growing at our new house. So I need to make a choice soon.
Thank you,
Darrell

I have an S470D, and mowed with a Woods RDC54 for a year or two. Seemed about the right size, worked well. Like the rear discharge. I ended up getting a JD425 garden tractor to mow with, works a little better for my property. I'll be selling the S470D, but keeping the RDC54 a while, may use it on the JD 755 compact tractor I just bought.

Thank you for the replies,
We just moved just outside Carbondale from Aurora. I now have six acres to mow, but I'm not complaining.

That was a long trip south. Are you connected with SIU?

We had been coming down here to get away from it all a few times a year. When I retired last May we decided to make it permanent. I ended up getting a Cub Cadet zero turn tractor. It's really the best tool for this lawn. Now I'm looking for a box blade for my Buck. I don't know if I should get a 4' for 5' model. I do know I will need some front weights too.

Where you will want more weight also, is on the box blade itself. I put my 26 gal sprayer on top of my box blade to add another 100 lbs to it when loaded with water.

I would go with the 48" since it is wider than the tractor and with only 1,100 lbs, traction will be at a premium.
