Let me start by saying that I'm a complete tractor novice, so please excuse my na?et? I had a Mitsubishi 1601D tractor given to me, and it runs very well. This tractor was definitely not meant to leave Japan, as all of the instruction manuals that came with it are in Japanese.
I also recently came into possession of a 4ft bush hog. My question is, is it possible to attach a standard, American bush hog to my little Japanese tractor? I backed up the tractor to the bush hog, and I don't see how the two could connect to one another. The dimensions of the connection points just seem to be too different between the two. Maybe I'm missing some connecting parts? Anyone had any success connecting a bush hog to a similar tractor? Any help (in lamen's terms) would be great. Thanks.

Does your tractor have a 3 point hitch? or is it just a size problem? I have looked at Yanmars before I got my Massey and they would have worked with a 4 ft hog. Ed

TractorData.com - Three-Point Hitch gives the dimensions of the various 3PH categories.

I suspect that most 4' rotary cutters have Category 1 hitches. I don''t know your tractor -- it may have a Category 0 hitch. Take some measurements and post what you find.

I posted two photos above. I'll get some more exact measurements later today, but this at least gives you an idea of what I'm working with.
As you can see, the bottom 2 brackets on the cutter are much too wide to fit my tractor. Also, the top two brackets are too narrow for my tractor. Maybe I'm missing some connecting pieces? As I said, I'm new to all this.
Thanks!

It looks like you are missing some parts: lift arms, lower links, top link, and check chains.

I guess it would help if I included all the necessary photos. Above are the only other pieces I have. I suspect these are the lift arms, but as you can see they're not both the same.

OK. You have the two lower links, the lifting arms (lifting rods), and one check chain (the device with the turnbuckle). You need a top link and another check chain.* It's hard to tell from your original photos, but it looks like you are missing a bracket that would allow you to attach the top link to the tractor.

* It may be that your tractor is set up to have only one check chain.
