I think your posts are great ! I am a new 1860 owner myself, but I don't have the collection of attachments you do, ( yet)!
Thanks for your service to our country!!!

billsh96,
Just saw your profile. Awesome looking tractor you have and welcome to TBN. You have the one attachment I wish I could afford (front end snowblower). In case you haven't read through some previous threads, we here at TBN love the pics. Hoping you can share some with us showing your tractor in action !!! We love the pics !!!

I don't have many photos, and this one dosen't seem season appropriate, but the low for tonight here is supposed to be 27 degrees! I may need the blower!!!

billsh96,
Niiiiiiiiiiiiice !

NewToy,
You look like you have similar weather where billsh96 resides. What do you use for snow removal ops ? My next attachment is going to be a poly salt & and seed spreader. I'm told to go with a poly drum as opposed to the soon to rust metal versions.

Willl,
You're right. Not appropriate for TBN. Was just having a little fun from an ole cadence call and meant no harm. Won't happen again. Just curious though, what's wrong with showing off a little bit from time to time ? I'm extremely proud of my accomplishments aren't you proud of yours ?

Read this thread early this morning, you and Willl had me LOL:D so much I spilled my coffee.

Sometimes things happen that just put it all in perspective.

Kinda like watching Forrest Gump.:p:D:D

MT, Believe it or not I clear the drive with a 6' landscape rake. My 500' + of drive is limestone and the rake at an angle removes most of the snow and kicks up enough stone to give the 4WD Cherokee a chance to get out. I have tried using a back blade and it takes off way too much stone and leaves a smooth surface. The drive is quite steep so I always back up until I lose traction then start raking on the way down. I gain a few feet each time until I'm getting all the way to the top. Going up forward is OK until you lose traction and either have to back down or try to turn around. Believe me, neither is very fun. Also, I know Bill96 gets alot more snow than we do down here. I'm due south of Cleveland about 110 miles on I77. We are out of the major snow belt, except for last year when we got pounded. Our snow fall can usually be measured with a ruler, Bill needs a yardstick.
There was a very interesting thread discussing the rake for snow removal a year or two ago. There are a few more rake advocates out there.

dirt ditch,
I couldn't agree more and believe me I am playing the role of Forrest Gump (I can't help it). All these experienced riders and educated riders make me learn more and more each and every day. They see things or have a different opinion of things that make me realize that my thoughts ain't exactly the perfect training of thought. My training of thought is good but others come to the same conclusion without the trials and tribulations I have suffered. Kind of like watching my three sons wrestling at the HS level. I've watched them make the same mistakes I made back when I was in HS wrestling in the early 80's and wish I could "transform" me into their bodies and defeat their opponent with what I know today but as I watch them compete I know I have to suffer through their ordeal and watch them lose the match as they accept defeat with class and humbleness. It's gut-wrenching to a parent. Just glad I made you laugh with my conversation to Willl... Still waiting for his reply by the way.

NewToy,
Please, please, please explain this rake approach. That attachment is a whole lot cheaper than a snow blower or a spring loaded plow. I'm running out of money quick but would still like a way to keep our driveway and street clear of snow.

Johndeere3720,
This is what I call the $150 toolbox and I'm not kidding. The steel toolbox itself was $12 from Orcshland's but when the chrome shop mafia guys finished sanding, scraping, chroming and polishing the darn thing it cost me a $138 more. Funny how they always give you a "ball-park" figure but when it's all said and done you've paid a whole lot more than what you planned for. Don't get me wrong, this is the look I wanted, just a little ticked off as to how some people do business ! Just glad to finally get "back in the saddle" and get some seat time. More to follow later.

MissouriThunder out here !

Neat post MissouriThunder!

I want to see more of your future endeavours vs military equipment. How 'bout a cage match against a Stealth bomber. Or maybe a tug of war vs a submarine?

Cool exhaust, I'm surprised it does not add some "rumble".

jimmyj,
Long time no see partner. As much fun as it's been, I think my days of the photo shoots with military stuff is winding down. Whiteman AFB, Missouri is where the stealth bombers are located and that's a three hour drive. As much faith as I have in my baby bota that would be to far of a ride. I do like the idea of one final shoot of my Kubota vs a coast guard ship they use for training here. Hmmmmm....

Now that my setup is pretty much complete (minus the 3-pt poly salt spreader), I'll just keep cutting all of my neighbors grass until our new home is finished in July. Then I'll take on my first real project of carving out a huge pond in our new backyard. I'll post some pics don't worry. How about you ? Completed any projects with the great pumpkin ?

duckhunt,
I didn't think the people were to interested in my "David vs Goliath" photo shoots. Jimmyj and BXinNH seemd to agree with you as well. Let me poke around the base this weekend and see what's out there.

As far as cleanliness and my tractor go, I just like keeping her clean after the seat time. There's a carwash less than a mile from the house and I take it there often. I'm just a neat freak I guess. Besides, I don't think the "shine" has worn off from the new paint yet.

jimmyj,
That's the coolest little greenhouse. I showed the pics to my wife (shouldn't have done that) and now she insists on me building her one when we move to our new property.

I can't believe your great pumpkin has reached the 100 hour mark so soon. You have been busy my canuck friend. :) :) :) I'll post some more pics this week.

MT,

Have you done any diggin or pushing since you added the toothbar. Just wondering how much it helped. I want one myself, most opinions on hear say markham makes a good product. I have alot of small trees that I am trying to clean up. Sure looks like that toothbar would really help dig up the roots. Summer time in Louisiana, you do everything you can to say on the tractor. Just to darn hot for manual labor. :D

MissouriThunder,
I think you "seized" on a new thread - "a%%es my little tractor can kick - a pictorial". Stack up your little BX against big rigs, tugs, bombers, etc.

Could be one of the funniest threads ever authored. . . . keep up the good work!

Just wanted to say I enjoy your posts, you seem like a guy I would like to know. I don't get along with just anyone because I can't stand a phony and I won't back down if I know I'm right. Hang in there!

underdawg,
Thanks for the positive feedback. If I made someone smile today then it was all worth it. How far is Mount Hope from FT McClellan ? I did basic training, AIT and BNCOC there. Never saw so much red clay (mud) in my life. Although the Drill Sergeants made us roll around in all that muck, I sure do have fond memories of Alabama.

TYMinColton,
You may be on to something there. Let me see what else is around the base that I could match up with. :D :D :D

duckhunt,
I can thank Ridgewalker for educating me about the power of a toothbar. It makes it much easier breaking up the soil. Although he suggested a markham also, I went with what the dealer had on hand. Not sure the brand name but it was $300. I haven't had the chance to dig into some tough, rocky soil yet but it cut right through the soft dirt in the woodlne.

MT - If you are interested, from your pictures, it looks like you have the W.R. Long flat toothbar. W.R. Long only sells to dealers and not straight to the public. I was at my dealer on Saturday picking up new MMM blades and he had 3 flat toothbars in stock. This will be my next purchase!! Tod
