Minimum GPM needed to run an F11 Loader

Hello There,

Does anyone know what the minimum GPM that is needed to run an F11 loader? I have an IH 656 with 12 gpm and what I would like to do is plumb the F11 to the tractor's hydraulics rather than use the rear PTO pump as that gets to be a pain to deal with during haying season. Will it work? What should I be on the look out for?

There really is no minimum to run a loader,

Gpm equates to speed of operation. The more GPM, the faster the loader will operate.

Thanks J.J. That was what I figured but I wanted to get some confirmation. Does it affect the lifting ability at all though, in terms of weight capacity?

The pump is putting out volume in GPM, and the cyl will use that fluid to develop pressure and therefore force.

The cyl are rated for so much, but there is a mechanical relationship of the bucket and the cyl connecting point.

The loader is designed to lift a certain load within certain parameters.

If you overload it, the relief will go off or the back end of the tractor will rise.

This is where you say, "It's physics, dummy, think about it?".... :laughing: I get it, the cylinder can only lift so much no matter what. The faster the pump is the faster the cylinder fills and lifts, and vice versa when you have a slower pump. Thanks for setting me straight again J.J.
