Mines / permit/license / governing agency?

That pit had been drag lined in the past, and does have 'natural water in the back deep part of it.. however the company mining it before we bought it didn't mention having any special problems from the local water district ( st johns in our area.. )

From past experience and observation, I would say it is virtually impossible to alter the land in any way in Florida without technically involving the local water district and/or the Corps, especially when a dragline is involved.

Actually contacting anyone is a different matter though......

In our area there must be at least a dozen sand and limerock mines.. I've never heard anyone mention the water district. I believe our county, at least, is 'mine friendly'.

We also have currently have a contract to fill in a county owned depleted limerock quarry.. it was a 10ac piece that has been mined out for years and we are hauling in clean fill off jobs that have excess. When we are done, the county will probably auction off the land.. etc...

Soundguy you should know by now how it works in FLA no one no where will know what is needed no matter how much you push it. but as soon as you get the first scoop of dirt out there will be 15 white cars there with yellow tags
