The snow stopped falling, the plowing is done, the dogs are asleep, and the woodstove in my shop is glowing a pleasant rose color. I'm sitting here with beer in hand watching the wind whip thru the trees outside while eyeing my hardwood (mostly cherry, but also some birch and maple) wondering what to make next.

Rural life at its best! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Pete, Have a cold one for me!... Still waiting for snow here.

I just came down stairs from watching four doe grazing within 100 feet of my deck. We sat down with the dogs and just watched them until they drifted into the woods. No hunters in the woods today.

You sure do have it right about the rural life. I did keep thinking how I do love venison.

Just finished mowing my three acres and fighting mosquitoes. Now my tractor is unloaded, my trailer disconnected and my fourwheeler put to bed and here I sit with a Bud Light wondering if it will be 75 degrees again tomorrow!/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Tim -- Your comment about venison reminded me of one of the first movies I watched with the woman who would become my wife. We were watching Bambi, toward the end during the hunt scene, and almost in unison we each said "That herd sure needs thinning!"

I knew she was the one for me!

So Pete, do you take orders? We could use a period hall tree or a buffet. Actually, it's times like those where I like to devote a few spare hours to something for the shop. Maybe a jig or fixture I've been wanting, or a cabinet for all those errant hand tools. Sounds like what you need is a cup holder for the side of your workbench /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I just came in myself after checking out the dusting of snow that is falling. Doubt it will accumulate to anything, but it sure is pretty. The fire is roaring downstairs where I'm about to head for a nightcap /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

First snow!?!? Been snowing off and on since Halloween...and our last snow is around Mothers' Day! Makes for a short and intensive growing season.

Nyquil, huh? Bummer! I never like getting sick, but when the weather is sloppy it feels particularly hard to take! Get well soon!
