I live in Illinois and we are going to Montana and Idaho. We could go south but it’s a little out of the way.

Idaho and Montana are nice, but it's going to cost you. I use gas buddy maps to plan my refueling on long trips. Sometimes a matter of a county or state line can save a bundle.

87 is 3.98 - 4.19 out there, diesel is 4.55 - 4.59.

Two years ago When I drove from northern Illinois through South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana & Idaho, Montana and Idaho was highest gas prices.

I don’t mean to rub it in, but I bought regular gas 2 hours ago for $3.55.

Read the article. Chevron chose not to operate the lease because oil operations on the north slope of Alaska are many multiples more expensive than operations in the lower 48. With so much resources available in the Permian and Balkan oilfields and far cheaper costs, Alaskan oilfield development may be a thing of the past. Developed fields will probably continue to produce in Alaska, but there isn’t likely to be much interest in new developments there.
