The dealer advised that JD's 72" mid-mount doesn't fit well under JD's large frame CUT's (4520). I have my 4520's front tires reversed and spacers on the rears for side hill stability. Dealer isn't sure whether it's a deal killer problem or a minor issue, e.g. the deck can't rise to highest point. I'd prefer the better cut that a mm can do over a rear finish mower, but I need some understanding of the clearance problem. I emailed JD, but haven't gotten a response. Anyone have some understanding of this?

I can't respond to the 4x20 question directly, but the front tires on a 3x20 will rub on sharp turns, when reversed, and with 72" 7-Iron MMM.

Having said that, reversing the front tires serves no useful purpose, as far as stability, because the front axle pivots in the middle.

Try doing a search, as I'm sure there are some on here with 4x20 and MMM. I just can't remember the user name.

If it doesn't fit, then I'd not go about trying it. Will get to be a nuisance real quick (at least for me) if the mower deck won't raise all the way because of the tires. And then there will be those times when the deck will raise due to ground rise and try to lift the tractor via the tire it hits. Not good.
Are they Deere spacers on the rear wheels? How wide are the spacers?

I decided to buy a rear discharge finish mower. LandPride FDR-2572. Interestingly, the dealer told me that they sell very few rear mowers anymore -- more customers going for the mmm's. The LP is a solid piece of iron, heaviest that I found, comparing Woods, JD, Befco, Caroni.
Thanks for the responses.

CinderS... I see your point about flipping the front wheels. My other reason for flipping is the fronts and rears are now aligned.

beenthere... Spacers were bought online from skidsteersolutions.com. They are 2" thick each. Fit perfectly on my 4520. Two on each side moved the tires out where I am comfortable on sidehills without having to flip the wheels. Their weight (around 20 lbs each) is a little bonus on the rear. Cost was $350.
