Michelin LTX A/T 2 review

I noticed today that Costco has their occasional special active on Michelins...$70 off a set of 4...but they are also are pricing their $15 per tire install (lifetime balance/rotation) for only 1 cent...so

savings of $130.

I drive an 11 Tacoma with 250k miles and changed my last set of Michelin Defenders at 91000.

I had to get new ones, winter was looming and wanted to change them out before the snow started flying. If I was going into summer at that point I would have driven them for another 10k. I know for sure I could have driven them for 100000. I do A LOT of highway driving, 80/20.

The mechanic who changed out my tires didn't even check the alignment. The tires were in great shape, no odd wear. The last time the alignment was checked was when the tires were mounted.

I will buy these tires for the rest of my life, no questions asked, super impressed. It's nice to find a quality item that I depend on for my well-being!!!

I put a set of LTXs on my Sprinter van. Swapped out the OE Kuhmos at about 30k miles. The Michelins now have 30 something K on them and still look new. IMO, the little extra they cost up front is well worth it.

On our fourth set of the Michelins, on my wife痴 awd Mercedes. There痴 no spare on the diesel GLK, and the road home is partially unpaved with sharp lava rocks hiding amongst potholes. Run them soft at 30psi and change them out at 30k as a precaution, even though plenty of tread is left. Great tires!
