What ever it takes...keep 'um out your tractor. Neighbor with a new L39 had just used it in the morning, then took off for the day...the other neighbor saw smoke coming from his tractor/carport and saw a fire in his control/gauge area....ran back to the house and got his fire extinguisher and put out the fire....within maybe 15 minutes the fire had consumed the control panel, seat, shade top, and all the paint off the rear of the tractor.....
Kubota dealer determined mice had built a nest in the control panel, then proceeded to chew up the wiring, then caught fire. Homeowners paid the 10K to the Kubota dealer to fix it...it had 139 hours on the tractor.
Keep those critters out.
Maybe 2 lessons here...a big battery shut-off switch
put the tractor on your homeowners policy ,
and keep the critters out.
I guess that's 3
