Hi everyone, I am new to this forum.

I need some advice on an MF65 Multi Power that won't start:confused:. I have not come across this problem before.

The tractor just cut out, then started and cut out again and now will not fire at all.

The tank has lots of diesel
I have bled the system right through to the injectors
I have checked it is getting air
The battery spins the engine very well and lifts the topper on the hydraulics.

Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Hello

Have you cracked off an injector pipe at the injector to see if there is actually high pressure fuel being delivered - there should be strong spurts rather than just dribbles with a wide open throttle ??

If so then what sort of smoke are you getting from the exhaust when its cranking ??

Cheers - Foster

A diesel in good mechanical condition needs fuel, air, and a good battery to turn over the starter for it to start.

When you bled the injectors did you get lots of fuel to them? You need to get all the air out. Make sure all your fuel fittings are tight and there are no cracks in the lines so no air can get sucked in. It's not uncommon for the fuel strainer at the tank bottom to be clogged and restricting the fuel flow. You might want to pull that and check it.

Have you checked the air cleaner for clogging? This is often an overlooked maintenance item.

If you have fuel and air to the cylinder and it won't start, your valves may need adjusting or your compression may be bad. But you said it just stopped so the latter is not too probable.

Like Jerry said all you need is air and fuel with the ability to turn over the engine...
You may have bad fuel, you can always start a diesel with a spray of WD40 into the air tube going into the engine...
