I have had problems with the power steering on my MF250. A leaking control valve under the steering wheel and another leak on the return pipe.

I replaced the seals on the control valve and replaced an ill fitting cotter pin on the control valve linkage with the correct size clevis pin.

I now have power assistance when turning left but hardly any assistance turning right, so I figure it may be the adjustment of the control valve linkage. Can anyone help with which way to adjust the linkage? Do I make it longer or shorter? Or do you think there is another cause of the problem?

Many thanks,
Richard.

Sorry, I don't have an answer. That is probably one of the few issues we never had with our 250s. Purchased new, they were a horror. Worst piece of farm equip. we ever had. Massey should have recalled them all and melted them down into one huge glob. The 253s that replaced them were a dream. On that cheery note, sorry to be less than helpful but sometimes shared pain makes it more tolerable.
