PRICE CHECK: MF1529 HYDRO W/FEL and Quick Steer

Hello all MF'ers (I mean that in the nicest way),

I was hoping someone can help this Newbie with their opinion on the MF1529 Hydro or similar MF.

1. I received a quote of $18K this includes the FEL and quick steer. I have priced them out and it seems reasonable compared to the New Holland 1510/1520 which were price at $18.1K and $19.1K and Kubota 2800/3400 $18.5 and $19.6. Oh yes, the MF is 0% for 60 months.

2. I have a small ranch of 8 acres and I was wondering if this machine would be enough to handle my chores of mowing at least 4 acres, moving round hay bales and driveway work?

Any and all opinions are welcome!!
Thanks!!:)

What size round bales are you going to be moving? I think you might be a little light!

The round bales are approximately 1200 lbs. According to the dealer, the 3 point can handle the weight, but of course not the FEL. I questioned it also. The movement would be on flat ground. The Kubota and New Holland dealers stated their models would also be able to handle them as well. Thoughts?

The L-3700 would be better priced and the Kubota's do have great resale every where..

Any of them should be fine for what you want to do knowing that the three point would lift your bales. To get the QT on the front bucket might allow you to be more versatile and the price is resonable with the initial purchase.

You might consider going one size larger to the MF1532 or the MF1533 and this would alow you to move the hay with the FEL as well. That seems like a great price and the MF also hold a great resale value.

I agree with Art on looking at the L3700 Kubota as well. It is the same frame/loader as the L2800/3400 with a bit more power and it is a no frills tractor.
That said.
I really liked the MF1529 when I was shopping for tractors and I only drove the one with shuttle shift. I think if you don't have to stack those bales, then either of these machines will work for you. Go to the dealer and spend some time sitting on the machines and check for things that you like and you don't like. Also ask just about any question you can come up with. That will show you which one of the dealers you would prefer on the long run.

The loader on both the 1529 and 1532 is the L100 and in both cases the capacity is 1280lbs, I can't say that I've tried that much in mine yet, but I have picked up 800lbs quite easily.
