MF1528 Glow plugs

Hello all,
Have a new to me 2005 1528. When I go to start, it takes a few minutes to crank and then start. I had a JD4300 in which the glow plug light would come on when the key was turned to the start position. Reading the manual, it states the glow plugs are activated at the start position. However, is there a light, as mine does not come on? Just wondering how I can tell if my plugs are operating properly?

On my 1533, you turn the ignition key enough to light the dash lights but not enough to start, and then just a little more, but not enough to start, and that sends current to the glow plugs and a yellow light comes on in the dash cluster.

I have yet to see mine do that!

Well it is easy to go past that stop... and right on to starting.

I don’t believe the 1528 has a glow plug light as my 1531 uses the same dash as the1528 and it doesn’t have a glow plug light.

I tried the key thing over the weekend and no light. But it did start rather quickly compared to before. But no light.

I have a brand new 1526 (15 hrs) and I've never seen a glow plug light. Surprisingly, it is also not equipped with "PTO on" or "parking brake on" indicator lights.
