Comparison MF135 vs ford 2000

   / MF135 vs ford 2000 #11
My 135 is a Continental gas 4 cyl, in low range have hauled some pretty good sized logs out of the woods, moved moutains of snow and horse manure around our property.

One thing to consider is I can go to any dealership in my area, regardless of color, and order pretty much anything I need. If that doesn't work out about every fourth house has one in the back yard.:laughing:

I don't think the axles on either machine, assuming the Ford is 2wd, are substantial enough to take any heavy FEL work, depends on what you plan to use the loader for. Looked at putting a loader on mine, decided with the 4.5 gpm flow and limitation of the front axle that it wouldn't be worth the investment for what I'd need it for.

the 2000 will be 2wd.. and yeah.. the front axle setup with radius rods is nott he strongest deal.. a fel will work.. but the heavier axle design of the light industrial + or the 4000 is much better for fel work.

Thank you all again for the info. After considering both I went with the Ford. There is an old Ford dealer around the corner that still orders parts and a current dealer 30 Miles away. The closest Massey dealer is around 100 miles. The mechanic that used to work for the old dealer is a friend of mine, full of knowledge and very helpful. The FEL on the ford was nicer then the unknown brand (what I call manure scoop) FEL on the Massey. Also the Ford came with a nearly new brush cutter on the rear, now I have 2. The Massey had the diesel engine which I personally prefer, but everything else pointed to the Ford. I do not plan on doing any "heavy lifting" work with the FEL so I think I'll be alright. Anyway, Thanks again to all who replied.

Good deal!! Hope you get many years of dependable service out of it. Those older tractors were built like tanks, no plastic on them!
