MF1250 RPM Gauge

The rpm gauge on my 1250 just quit. Anyone else have this problem ? It looks like it is driven elictrically by a rpm sensor. anybody know where the sensor may be located?

I just looked in my repair manual and it says the tachometer is cable driven. I bet the cable broke. Hope this helps.

Wrenchturner ... What drives it, the injector pump ?

The tachometer cable screws onto the injection pump below the throttle cable.

The cable is ok it seems like the tachometer mechanizm is worn out. Hopefully will not need to buy the complete instument cluster to fix it.

Problem solved ... replaced the tach gearbox and drive gear. Cost under $100.
