Has anyone used one of these balers? It is the newest series out from Agco. Looking for a new baler and have looked at a 2749A. Full auto cycle, netwrap, kicker, and hydraulic lift on the pickup. This and John Deere seem to be my choices in this area. Vermeer used to be the #1 baler around here followed by New Holland. No dealers for either one very close now. So far I have not been too hot to get the JD. Have not had a good relationship with the JD dealer when I used to run JD tractors.:( So I have been really looking for another option.

The Vremeer 604M weighs 7,000 where the MF2746A weighs 6,120. The Vermeer pickup is a 5 bar pickup and the MF2746A is a 4 bar pickup.

Looked at balers today at the Tulsa farm show. The 604M is $1500 higher that the MF/Hesston after all rebates and incentives. The Vermeer also isn't a full automatic(still not sure if thats a good thing) and doesn't have hydraulic lift on the pickup. The nearest Vermeer dealer is also 20 miles farther away. New Holland is out, 2 hour drive to the closest dealer. JD is still an option, but the closest dealer for JD is still a place I have had trouble with in the past. So the search is still on. Going to wait till after the first of the year and see what turns up.

A 604M with net wrap & ramp options should be able to be purchased around $27,000 or less. Look at all the standard features with the wide pickup.

I was quoted $27,500 on the basic Vermeer 604M vs $26,000 on the MF with all the bells and whistles. Another MF dealer quoted $28,000 on the same baler. Really like the looks of the quick change blades on the newer Vermeer mowers. I got a quote of $7250 on them. All prices were cash after incentives.
My biggest worry is the auto clutch and electronics on the MF/Hesston. Heston has been building them that way since in the 90's if I'm not mistaken. Was really looking for some feedback from an owner of one.
That said I've had 2 Vermeers and an OMC(sold out to Gehl). Both Vermeers where good machines I just can't figuire out where all the dealers for them have gone. I know of 5 in my area that don't carry them anymore.

The 7030 9'2" cut. The clip blade system looked neat and user freindly. I haven't how will that hold up over time vs the bolts.
