Wanting info on if there is a skid plate available or not can not find any on the internet. I notice that the fan is not protected from sticks poking up. Has anyone ever changed one on here? If so, is it as much of a pain as the Kubota BX? I guess the BX needs the engine pulled to do it!!! I have been looking at both of these machines and I like the larger, heavier built, and ergonomics of the GC. But if there is a skid plate available for this unit I am getting one!!

You can always make your own if you do any welding or fabricating.I made a skid plate, oil filter guard, and fan guard for my gc2300 this past winter just put the skid plate, and fan guard on if I need them. The oil filter guard I leave on always. The fan on the gc2300 is a fairly simple procedure, you just have to remove the pinch bolt from the yoke on the hydro and slide the shaft forward ,and then unbolt the fan blade from the hub.I don't think you even have to pull the floor pan off ,I'am pretty sure you can do it from underneath just not sure if the 2610 is the same easy way.Larry

I had a GC2310 and traded it in for something a little larger, but i thought it was a very good machine. At the time I thought one of bigger differences between it and BX24/25 was the engine cubic inch and ability to fully run hydraulics at idle. The way the 3pt hitched stayed attached with BH on was nice and the BH flip stabilizers were also well thought out. I had ag tires and it could really shove some material for it's size.

Your dealer should be aware that Massey makes a skid plate for these units. I thought the newer ones came with it already installed. Do a search in Massey forum it was covered very well a year or two ago.

I did a search and the only skid plate I could find was the hydro filter 1, and yes that does come on the GC2610TLB. But the fan is still exposed to any sticks coming up from the ground. I guess the fan is easily replaced so that does not seem to be a problem, I just don't like the filters and lines being exposed to getting snagged by a piece of brush or stick and ripping them loose or off for that matter. I like Massey Drivers solution, but again, I am not a very good fabricator!
