Mf gc2300 won't turn off

I am new to the forum and wanted to know if anyone is having the same problem as me and knows a solution. My gc2300 starts and runs fine but will not turn off. I had to kill fuel and it stays running I am guessing off of the crankcase vent. I got it to finally die by taking off the air inlet and choking the motor down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think this is common among diesal engines and I am pretty sure it has been discussed on this forum before-have you tried doing a search?

How long is it running after you cut the fuel & where are you cutting it? I bet it'll run a while on the fuel in the lines.

There is a fuel shut off solenoid on the side of the injector pump. It should get a signal from a relay to turn off for ten seconds when the key is turned off.

The manual also says, you should be able to push on the rubber boot on the end of the solenoid, and turn it off manually.

Thanks for the info after messing with it the last few days I found I am having an ignition switch issue not activating that fuel shut off solenoid. The crazy thing ran for over an hour with the fuel line off going to order a new ignition switch and I think it should be fine.

People have had issues with the ignition switch, that park the tractor where water can get in it.

We have also seen wires break off of it. They can be soldered back on.

Check the 5 amp shut down fuse located in the 3rd slot of the fuse box. These sometimes blow, (open) when there is moisture present from cleaning tractor with garden hose.
