Hey Guys,

I'm new to the boards here. I'm about to get my first tractor, my father in law is going to let me use his early 60's MF 65 indefinitely. He's owned it since 1980 and it has been a solid reliable workhorse for the past 36 years. It is a gas engine with a loader. I'd like to improve the loader, it uses the internal hydraulic pump and it is slower than death compared to his new tractor. I'd like to avoid using the rear PTO shaft as we have a bunch of implements that require the PTO. What other solutions have you guys seen or used? I understand that it will never be the new tractor, but I would like it to take less than a minute and a half to dump the bucket.

Thanks,

Todd

You can get an adapter, maybe Ebay, that hooks to the front crank pulley and run and extra hyd pump from it. If you look up under the front end you will see a hole where the shaft goes through.

My diesel MF 65 was set up that way. It made it near impossible to change the fan belt tho. I suppose that I could've pulled the radiator.. but I didn't.

Thanks for the replies, I've been seeing alot of comments about the steering arm hitting. What is everybody doing to prevent this?
