MF 35 Hydraulic Pump reconditioning

Hi all I'm doing an overall on my MF 35 3 cylinder.
On the pump I'm the pistons, valve chambers and control valve also changing all of the o rings.

I took out the control valve to change it and the sealing washers. There's a one ring retainer with 2 o rings and the final sealing washer of the control valve I can't get out of its chamber. (Pic attached)
It's pretty tight and leaves me that I can't change wither the o rings or final sealing washer.
Also when removing the control valve I didn't see what way it came out. What way should the slots be that go into the valve spring.end?
The manual I.have does not give information on control valve so any help appreciated.

As far as I remember, that sucker should just pull out. Mine was tight, really had to yank on it.

The more cone shaped end of the control valve should face forward. In hindsight, I think I actually drove that spacer with the o-rings on it out from the back side. Used a small punch to carefully push it out the front opening.

Also, I was under strict instructions not to mix up those three sealing washers that came on the control valve, I’m not really sure if it makes a difference or not, they look identical. I kept them in order as best I could.

Cheers yea i tried the punch from the back to and no joy lol i.do appreciate that it must be the o rings leaving it tight.
Thank you for the pics I see no 4 a wire tool is part of the removing tool. I wonder if I ripped the first oring open with something sharp would it allow me to remove the spacer. I get the feeling those o rings sit on that spacer though.

Did your machine have water in the hydraulic oil? Is it possible that corrosion is preventing the spacer’s removal? I’m trying to find more detailed pics from when I did mine.

Now that I think about it, the o-rings on that spacer (#7) are not in a groove at all. The ends of the spacer are slightly cone shaped and they just fit over the ends.

I’m betting that the spacer is seized in there, or that one of the spacer washers is stuck in place. If they’re not removed perfectly straight they can jam up and get stuck on ya.

No water in that back end of the tractor at all. I had the lift cover off to replace the gaskets and o rings on the cross shaft then seen the pump pistons scored so decided to do the repair.

I think I'm going to get a sharp hook and try lift the first o ring out. It's my only option now. Can't believe how tight that all is but it must be down do just pure tightness of the o ring against the housing of the chamber.
