MF 35 Diesel
My 35 was leaking fuel from the top of the pump. I replaced the o-rings and gasket. The tractor will now not leak and run but it will not throttle up or down instead it runs at a high idle. My father replaced the o-rings and gasket years ago and he had the same problem but he can't remember how he fixed it. Any help would be nice. Thanks

Were any changes made to metering valve control rod length, hopefully was left alone. Also need to keep spring position in gov arm and throttle lever in original holes. Make sure metering valve moves freely or governor control will be lost, it must not stick at all and have only the rod moving it on, stop bar to shut it down.

You may well find when you take off the top, that the spring is off, or the rod (bar) is not moving. you should not be able to lift the lid right off, if so the spring is off the lid.
Water in the fuel has always been a killer for CAV pumps.

We got it running right. We had the spring in the wrong hole on the tombstone. Thanks for your help.
