Kubota b2400 SOLD. Now a Massey Ferguson 285 SOLD. Now a Kubota 50HP
Alright. So life changed and I sold my little Kubota. I needed a more hp pto tractor. Got a MF 285 due to be delivered. Here's my problem. First big tractor, and the labeling for all the levers etc. seems to be... absent. The driving controls are fine. It's the pto. 3pt and hydraulic controls I'd like a run down on. Heck, the 3pt has 4 levers. Guy I got it from was very unsure of the different controls. Anyone have a diagram or seen a diagram?

Thanks

Just keep rpm at idle and start moving levers. You will figure it out soon enough!

This is plan 2. Plan 1 is to have a sniff of what I should NOT be doing. LOL.

Jensales or Agkits can sell you an operator's manual, or try eBay.

Massey Ferguson 285 Tractor Operators Manual - around $34 US less shipping.
I plan on ordering the manuals. I need the machine to get here for the serial number though. It seems there is different manuals depending. Or there were on the site I found, anyway. Planning on the three manual set (parts, service and operators).

Those old machine didn't come with ROPS. There's two levers below seat between operators knees, one switches hydraulic pump from 3 point to aux,the other catapult's operator in emergency. Is it the right, no I believe it's the lef, I'm not really sure, just pull your hat down and be prepared. 😲

LOL. I think that needs repaired. I moved a few things around without ejection seat discovery...

If you haven't got an operators manual by now , order 1 pronto. It will save you many mistakes.
What gearbox do you have? 8 speed or multipower? With the multipower, you MUST be in HIGH MULTIPOWER when DECENDING hills as LOW MULTIPOWER will " RUN AWAY".
I see you are on Vancouver Island, to increase stability, adjust your rear wheels to a wider setting for extra stability.
If you don't have a ROPS fitted put that on your priority list.
