Hi all

I am thinking about buying a MF2605, can someone tell me a little about this tractor and what would be a good price to try to get the dealer down too. I know it will be an improvement over my 231.

Any replies will be appreciated very much

My father has a 2009 4-wheel drive 2605 with a loader. It's has about 1000 hours on it now and has been a great tractor, no problems or trips to the dealer other than oil changes / maintenance.

Only things I don't like about it are no differential lock on back axle or limited slip on the front axle and no shuttle shift transmission - which is sorely missed when doing much loader work or unloading a few trailers of round bales.

Think he paid around 22k for it new in early 2010.

Best regards,

Jay

I've had mine about a year but only 50 hours. So far so good. Haven't had any major issues.

A couple of minor issues:
Don't like the way the hood raises, since its heavy, its hard to raise.
The ignition key is hard to insert since its below line of sight.
I have to watch to be sure and turn off the ignition as u kill the engine like the old tractors. By pulling out the stop fuel rod. But unlike the older tractors, u have to remember to turn off the key also.

But am pleased with my choice.

Its a 4x4 with FEL Fuel usage has been about .43 gal/hour, which is great. I gave $12,500 + a late 60s MF135 diesel with around 1600 hrs. A sale was going on at the time.

Thanks Jayman30 & Cmore

Guys I like what you both are saying that it is a pretty good tractor.

C'more, you know that was a number I had in the back of my mind, so I am going to try to get the guy down to $12500 or less, hopefully. Definately donot want to pay the $13,900 listed.

I will post and let you all know how bad I was beat up on the deal.

thanks,

They offer a hood effort kit now to make it easier to lift the hood on the older units - the 2013 & 2014 hoods are much easier to lift.
