MF 1840M and 2850/2860M open stations

Are these models considered Compact or Compact/Utility or Utility? I want to replace my tired 50hp Landtrac Compact. Must be open station and I would like power shuttle and wet clutch for durability. I understand these models have them. Price is a definite consideration, $30-40K with FEL and one remote. Looked at the new Yanmar but all the electronics scare me off! How much will still be working in 25 years? And, no close dealer.

How much difference between the 1840 and the 2850, except 10 hp?
