Hey guys I'm looking to get into the compact tractor game to maintain and improve my ~10 acre property of tough terrain.

My local dealer has a MF1739e with hydro on the lot that they quoted me for $20444 and comes with block heater and loaded tires. They were going to add a box scraper for $750 and a 16' tandem axle trailer for $3,000 as I am interested in having both of these. Any thoughts on prices?

I can't help but think the 1739e may be a bit too much horsepower for me as I don't intend on blowing snow or tilling in the foreseeable future. I do see a bunch of loader work and potentially a wood spliter, brush hog, finish mower, and backhoe in the future. I want to make sure I have enough power to meet these demands.

For a 1739E, I think you are in the right ballpark. The best price I was quoted, with the current incentives (Cash PSC or Cash PSC + Finance (3.49% for 60 months)) that end June 30th, 2016 for a 1739E plus loader was $18,607. That price did not include the engine block heater, loaded tires or labor for installing those items.

As for the trailer, as long as it is a 10K trailer, that sounds about right - but I would highly recommend a 20' trailer over the 16' trailer. It does not cost much more, but is much nicer to have the 4 extra feet.

When I was looking at the 1700E models, the 1734E seemed like the sweet spot (was quoted $17,145 with FEL under current program) for PTO HP. If you are not going to use the PTO at all really, then even the 1726E would be a very good option since it is basically the same weight and I believe that even the 1726E would run out of traction before horsepower. The 1734E is a nice option, though, because it can handle a light duty 6' rotary cutter pretty easily.

Good luck on your search. I will be bringing my new 2706E home tomorrow (hopefully).

Update
I went and contacted another Massey Dealer about an hour away and the next state over(NY). The salesman/owner was much friendly and actually willing to negotiate. I decided to pull the trigger on the 1739E for 23,300 with loaded R4 tires, and block heater, this was at the .99% financing. Monthly payments and total cost of loan are identical to the setup in the first post with the bigger cash discount and 3.99%, though the first dealer did not include agco insurance in the price and would not negotiate at all and was not terribly friendly about it.

I don't feel like I got a super great deal or anything but i think prices are just generally higher up here than the rest of the country. Photos when it arrives next week!

Congrats on the new 1739E! I just brought my new Massey home and I am loving having the new tractor.

I will see you over on the Massey Owning/Operating sub forum!

Got the 1739E delivered last night! Runs great and surprisingly agile for its size. I have plenty of loader practice to do on this thing. If there are any questions on the price or tractor let me know.
