Greetings,
I have a 1971 165. The lift operates properly with a correct size harrow on only when the tractor is below 1200 RPM's. At 1600 RPM's the implement falls to the ground. This happens irregardless of whether the tractor is hot or cold. Idle it down and the lift picks the implement up again. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Michael

Sounds like the relief valve is failing. When pressure increases with rpm, it exceeds the relief's limit, dropping load.

I've heard of similar problem when sump was low on oil and/or screen partially clogged. Pump starves for oil with increased flow at higher rpms. Most likely relief though.

screen partially clogged.
Luckily that was it. I recently cleaned the filter and changed the fluid because water had entered the transmission case. The filter was almost completely clogged again. I put in new fluid and now it's working properly once more. And now on to he multi-power.....

Onto a completely different subject anyone know where I could find a set of original front wheel weights for the tractor.

Thanks again Farmwithjunk,

Michael
