Hello,
I was just reading the stickers on the bottom left of my rear fender on my MF 1528 and it says not to engage reverse in the "bunny/heir" range lever (My 1528 is gear drive) unless at low RPM, is this just because of speed or more for tranny wear? Thanks.

Speed This would cause the rear wheels to spin if you released the clutch too quickly ,and give you a handful of control problems...Conversely if you released it too slowly you would create excessive wear on the clutch disc, So the best way is to use lower RPM as suggested...

Happy Tractoring:)

Could have something to do with what Nasty said but I would also say that driving fast in reverse is dangerous. There is a much better chance of losing control.

I would say that a spun clutch would be a costly mistake, the clutch has more pulling power going forward than in reverse. spinning the clutch and burnung a nice glaze over the clutch surface will kill a clutch. And your wallet.
I did this once when I was younger, never again. I was 15 yrs old. to old far a spanking from my uncle. but he didn't care if I was 15 or not.
