MF-135 Thermostat

Does anyone know what the correct temp. thermostat is for a MF-135 diesal. I have a 130-140 thermostat now, I don't believe this is the right one.! When I replaced a head gasket, the company who did the head sent me a 130-140 thermostat, and know I have blown a hose. Should the thermostat be a 170 -180?? and do you know what the reason is for having a higher thermostat??
