MF 1250 Glow Plugs

Has anyone ever changed the glow plugs on a 1250 without removing the injector pump? I have power to the plugs, they do not seem to heat and my glow plug lamp does not glow.

Have you checked the preheating coil? I'm not sure what that is but it is the first thing listed to check in the service manual.
According to the book to remove the glow plugs is:

REMOVAL
"Remove the connector by loosening the glow plug nut installed on the cylinder head."

INSPECTION
Check for continuity across the sheath and center electrode. If there is no resistance, it indicates a short circuit, so replace the glow plug. if the Resistance is infinite, it shows that the pre-heating coil is burnt out, so replace the glow plug.

Best that I can tell is that the injector pump doesn't need to be removed.

Replaced one glow plug after about 3 hours and lots of cursing. There is not
much room between the block and the injector pump. I think I can get the other outside cylinder but will need to remove the fuel injector to access the middle cylinder plug. I have never removed a injector and am not sure what I am up against. Anyhow even with one glow plug replaced I am able to start the engine and the glow plug light glows. Im sure that all of the plugs were shot and there was no current to light the glow light. The glow plugs are not cheap ($60 each).

Finally replaced the other 2 glow plugs. I did not remove the injector line for or injectors for the 2 outside plugs, however you must remove the line and injector to get access to the center plug.
