Tractor is split, input housing removed, manual states all gears can be removed out the front.

Several gears are supported by the input hsg. but PTO clutch and shafts are supported by transmission case.

PTO Clutch must come out before 31 T and 27 T gear and F and R syncro can be removed.

Need to replace bearings on syncro, hoping someone knows the secret.
Thanks

Hmm? Seems the manual left an important procedure out, like remove the front transmission from the spacer transmission.

At least that's what our local dealer says?

They were correct! Rear bearing of F and R syncro had a total failure. No other problems or failed syncro parts found now wondering if shifting on the fly aggravated the bearing failure?

Future plan is to shift to forward or reverse when stopped, possibly overstressed loading on syncro and outboard or end bearings. Both bearings exhibited severe spalling or pitting.

Or maybe a bad build on those bearings. I agree shift when stopped. Trans gears in tractors turn pretty fast at low ground speeds.

PO told me it had a "power shuttle" but does not! The PS recommended speeds are 3-5 mph, exceeding that causes "shifter shock" so no doubt that I was doing it wrong!
