MF 120 baler & Hesston 1091 Mower Conditioner good deal or stay away?

My local hay guy is not going to do hay anymore. He is the only one that has done our fields for our horses for several years. We had to buy hay before instead of taking 1st cutting off of our fields. We had no luck getting anyone else to bale our hay in 20 years. We have 10 acres.

He is now selling the equipment. MF 120 baler $4000.00 and the Hesston for $1600. I am new to this type of equipment. Is this a reasonable deal? This is the same equipment he has used on our place the last the last few years. All seem to be in working order and have been stored inside for many years.

The Hesston seems in the ball park when I look on line but not many "comps" on the baler.

What say you experts please?

Price on the 120 sounds steep, better be mint condition. Those older small square balers are normally $1000-$2000 dollars "here"

Yep. My MF124 baler cost $2K in 2008. I bought it right out of the field. The seller had used it the previous day to bale on his 35 acre spread. I replaced the pads on the slip clutch the first year. Easy job.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up buying the equipment. I have to travel for work a lot in the near term so I figured better have something in hand for the horses. I received many extra parts and 2 new cutter blades. Now looking for a rake.
