So now I've run across a MF 1125 4x4 with a 4' bushog. If you've seen my other posts I am a new owner of 3+ acres of both thick woods & open pasture with much of it having a decent slope. I have looked at a TO35, 135, 165 (maybe a tad large), etc and that size seems to suit me just fine (I grew up on a farm and loved our little 135 we had back then). I'll basically be bush hogging, gardening, and may get a loader in the future to move around some large rocks on the property.

This 1125 4x4 almost seems too small to me (only 25 HP), but at $4k it also seems to be a decent deal. I'll probably try to sell the 4' BH and get a 5' if this tractor will pull it - will that be a problem?

My main concern is that I may get something too small for my needs and end up needing to buy something else too soon.

Also, I noticed on tractordata.com that it only has independent PTO - isn't a live PTO preferable for BH?

Thanks for your input (again!)!

Sounds like a good deal. I think i would leave the 4' on it 5 might b alittle much. As far as the independent pto goes i prefer it over live.

Thanks for the input. Keep it coming folks - I'm headed out now to take a look at it (1.5hrs or so) but I'll be checking the forum from my phone.

Nice little tractor! Trouble is, I think it's too little. Still looking...

Yeah TX might be a little far for a small purchase like mine.

One other thing about this tractor - there seems to be some fuel bubbling out around the head gasket - no oil, just small fuel bubbles. Is this a sign of something bad?
