Like many others, looks like my shifter boot let rain water into the tranny for many years, and I had the dreaded white oil, and recently lost hydraulic pressure. I'm sure it had water in there for years though worked properly until now.

Changed the oil and filter, still no pressure.

Suggestions appreciated

Have you checked the oil since you changed it? Very possible there was enough contaminated oil in the hoses and cylinders to contaminate the new oil. It is possible pump or something was damaged by water in the system.

If you just changed the screw on hyd oil filter then there may be another. MF may be different than my JD 4300. In mine there is a filter inside the trans (not the external hydraulic oil filter that is screwed on) where the hose is connected to the trans that was clogged caused from water in oil. It was a fine mesh filter about an inch in diameter about 12 inches long. Look at yours and see if there is a filter where the hose connects to the trans.

On the JD 310B backhoe water kept being pushed to the sump so I started to loosen that drain plug and let the water out and screw it back in when the oil started flowing. It was my guess all the cylinders had water in them and over time it worked back to the sump. That was 6-7 years ago and the last time I checked the fluid was water free.

Has anyone experienced the white oil on a MF compact? Interested to know the steps taken.

Drain, fill, use and dump, a few times to remove the water contaminated oil. If you have loader or accessories, they need the same treatment. Ensure you drain fully from all low points like axle housings or driveshafts if you have them. if it's been in there for years, there is probably a lot of sludge to get out.

Do you have hydraulics again? What hydraulic implements do you have? Have you checked parts layout for any screens?

Only implement is loader.
Anyone know if this Japanese Massey has any screens?
