MF 1030 - Newbie buyer questions

I'm looking at an MF 1030; 4WD, bucket loader, 3PTH, 28HP, with a 6 or 7ft yard rake, about 1600hrs. Probably 1989 model. Private sale.

Owner was asking $6,900. I'm offering $6,200. Does this seem like an ok price?

One issue, the bucket is slow to rotate down. Everything else moves smooth (bucket up/down, rotate up, rear 3PTH up/down). The local MF dealer said it's probably just a quick disconnect/reconnect to fix, or maybe change a filter. Does anyone have any similar experience with this sort of problem?

Also, does anyone know how I might find out what sort of backhoe attachments would work with this tractor?

Welcome to the forum, I think you will find a lot of valuable info on this site.
I have owned a MF 1040 4wd tractor for the past two years. The tractor is a little larger than what you are looking at. Mine is 32hp, and weighs in at 3800 lbs without the loader. I bought it with 1340 hours and have put about 100 hours on it since I got it. I bought it for $6000 after some dickering. It has been a good machine so far to me. My bucket rotates on the slow side also, and yes I replaced all the hyd filters. Its not a problem for me because I dont use it every day. I run a 5ft Woods rotary mower with it, no problem and also use a 6ft rear grader blade to maintain my 800 ft driveway. If you have any other questions I will try and help.

I've got an '86 1030 Hydro with 2,000 hrs on it that I purchsed new in 1986. It is a good machine, it has the HST tranny and the hydraulic high pressure and suction filters are real expensive. Other than that, the machine has been a 100% hard worker with no down time for failure or repairs.

I am not aware of any BH available for them, would require some rear hydraulic remotes. I don't have any additional hydraulics on my 1030, no FEL either. But it is a hard working reliable machine with the Iski 3 cylinder 1.5 liter IDI diesel.

I would value mine @ $3,500.

The 1030 uses the Toyosha MS142. MF didn't start using Iseki until after the 1030 was discontinued.

Can you still buy parts for the Toyosha engines? I know they went belly up.

I haven't needed any engine parts that I couldn't buy from NAPA But I haven't had any trouble getting other tractor parts. There is still a supply of parts in warehouses and used parts are plentiful.

I just bought a MF 1030. This tractor is differant from allot of these MF1030's. This tractor was used to pull airplanes around a airport. It now has a hydro plow on the front of it. It seems to push anything that is in front of it with no trouble at all. I see it was posted that parts are still available. The problem I am seeing is finding them. What and were is the best way to find them? I have e-bay sending me e-mails when ever someone adds something on there. But so far not much. Craigslist has NOTHING.
