I have worn out the belts on the pto finish mower, and had to get a couple of replacements quick. Turns out the orignal where 16mmX1178MM, And the closet was a 64 X .50 inch. I expect a short life from these belts, am looking for a source of metric belts. I have googled the part # have come up with nothing,

Are you sure you have the measurement correct? 178 mm is only 7 inches. I dont know your machine but isnt it more likely its 178 INCHES. (Even over here, in metric land, belts are still measured in inches.)

This website might help you identify the belt you need. I've used it a few times. They are in the uk so buying from them is probably not an option. But once you have the belt code, you could google it to find a more local supplier.

High Quality Replacement V-Belts Major and Premier brands - Simply Bearings Ltd

I've bought from that same company on Ebay. Even including postage they were much cheaper than buying here in Australia. ($13 including postage for a 73 inch belt that was costing me about $30 over here!)

Oops I made a mistake. The UK company I purchased from was called Bearing Options on Ebay. A SECTION V BELT A16 - A46 VEE BELT 13MM X 8MM items in BEARING OPTIONS store on eBay!

I just checked and the one I posted above has pretty cheap postage to the US if the OP isn't in a rush.

Just a fyi, spent a couple of hours on the internet, and found out that the B that is before the number defines the angle of the V. The number with LI after it is the inside length. Found another number on the old belt with a LD after it was the outside length of the belt. Will get on the phone on Monday, with the local (50-100 miles away) industrial supplyers.
