Messicks drops price 50% for remote hydraulic kits

Last fall I was looking at adding a second remote as the hay rake requires two remotes. At the time Messick's had them for ~$1100. I looked around and found a new old stock at Long Lane Tractor for $800.

I called them last week and bought it from them. during the install I had to order a different part (not related to the remote) and found that Messick's had dropped the price to $555! I found that disappointing as I just dropped $800!

I figured it couldn't hurt to call Long Lane and explain what happened, so I did. They were very understanding and after verifying the price refunded me the difference!

I thought I'd give them a shout out as there aren't too many places that will do that for you, especially when they really didn't have to.

So if you need anything for your tractor, then Long Lane is a good honest place to look.

Hmmm, who did you call last week and why were you disappointed by a couple hundred bucks 1/2 a year ago? Why didn't it hurt to call Long Lanes, what did you explain to them? Who gets the shout out and what didn't they have to do? Didn't Long Lanes over charge you and had to asked to meet another dealers price? So, isn't Messicks the place to call (though I have used them and find their prices fair to excellent and service top notch, with shipping right on track).

I'm not knocking Messick's. I have no opinion about them one way or another. Shipping charges are what keeps me from purchasing from them.

I think when i bought 2 remotes from messicks it was in the $1200 range, i think one was around $550. This was a few yrs ago.

Two completely different business models. One OEM dealer, one salvage /aftermarket supplier.
Both are top notch.

I'm not knocking Messick's. I have no opinion about them one way or another. Shipping charges are what keeps me from purchasing from them.

It's just that I question when ever anybody states this or that is the best one in the world, planet, etc. One never knows for sure unless they experienced them all. And we all can learn something new every day.

Interesting, maybe I need to price an additional pair of remotes for my tractor, as I need them, just didn't want to shell out the huge amount of money that I have been quoted for them. It was and "installed price" so I should be wary of a parts price anyway!

I just wanted to thank you for the information you had pertaining to the lower price on the second valve. I have a 3040 Boomer with one set of remotes. I wanted to add a second set but could not justify the price that they had been asking for the kit. I had checked a couple of years ago and it was priced at about $1100.00. I could not part with that much money for the kit. I just ordered the valve kit from my local dealer for $550.00 with no shipping charge. I guess they couldn't move the supply they had at the price they were asking.

I'm glad I read this. My TC35D doesn't have any remotes. I was thinking of getting one or two but last time I checked they were over $1000 each. Now the first one is $560 and the second one is $555. Not bad at all. I noticed that a third one is still over $1000... Not sure why...
