Mesh vs Wood Floor

I am considering a small 4x6 utility trailer again. I am looking at two carry on models. One has a wood floor and the other a mesh floor. Other than sound and damage to the load , what's the advantage of the wood floor? My wife will be towing with her honda civic , which is rated at 1000 lbs. From my estimate she will be towing about 500 lbs including the trailer.

Mesh bends easily and is also limits hauling stuff like rocks, soil, dirt, ect.

My vote is wood.

My trailer has a wood floor. I thought if a board went bad or broke it would easily be repaired. The mesh floor probably is a little lighter giving a little bit more payload.

Mesh will limit what you can haul - also, mesh will not protect the cargo from water, mud, sand & gravel etc being thrown up.

Another vote for a wood deck.

If you ever have to kneel down on the trailer to do anything, you don't want a mesh deck.

The mesh floor in those trailers is pretty light duty. It bends very easily. Most people end up putting wood on top of it. I say get a wood floor.

Mesh can make it more difficult sliding items in and out, too.

Everyone i know that has a mesh floor, promply covered it in 3/4 plywood. which leads me to wonder... why not just a wood floor to start. (cause most of the trailers in the TSC parking lot are mesh floor)
