With Memorial Day being tomorrow, I thought I'd share this story I read this morning about the USS Harder submarine in WWII.

"On 22 May 2024, Tiburon Subsea CEO Tim Taylor and the Lost 52 Project announced that they had discovered the wreck of Harder in the South China Sea near the Philippines' northern island of Luzon.[10][11] Taylor's discovery was confirmed by the U.S. Navy based on video footage taken of the wreckage. Harder sits mostly intact and upright at a depth of 3,750 feet (1,140 m).[12] A large hole on the port side just aft of the conning tower indicates Harder likely received a direct hit by a depth charge, similar to the fate suffered by Lagarto."

French caretakers take the sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy and scrub it into the letters to give them the brown/gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.

I do know the difference between Memorial (Decorations) Day and Veterans Day although some of our fearless leaders in DC apparently do not.
I do not believe anything I posted this weekend is disrespectful or confuses the 2 days. YMMV

You get some really weird stuff sometimes.

But I did actually read what was posted. Seems like more than a few only watched the video, and didn't bother to read the description.

Too bad the gal didn't get the description correct.

I would think this part makes it correct

REST IN PEACE is hardly directed the the living.

I guess it could be more correct to state GAVE rather RISK but the last line put's it into the right frame. IMHO.
