I'm a retired JD engineer. I put many of the tractors/mowers discussed here into production. I was just giving some insight into why OEM's do what they do. My Meg-Mo comment is just an opinion... and you know what they say about opinions! ;<)

Thx for the greeting! Geese are still here... goose poo abounds. Have found a mower blade that can pick it up yet!
