Anyone have any trouble with the Mechron 2200 shift cable in cold weather .....mine seems to get hard to impossible to shift when it has been sitting in temps of 15F and lower.
once you warm it up by letting it run for 1/2 hour or so it shifts but not easily until it has been run for a while.....85 hours on it so far
wondering if my shift cable is on it's way out or can it be lubricated
Thanks for any help

Mitch

Hey Mitch, havent heard from you for a while. As I recall, your dealer is couple hundred miles away. Can you remove the cable and dry it/lub it? Did you ever get a workshop manual?

Hi Rick,
Slow internet access here so I don't venture onto forums too much...I did finally get a workshop manual .....lubing the cable helped quite a bit, when it warms up I'll remove the cable and hang it to drain and lube it up and re install it so there are absolutely no droops or sags where moisture could accumulate

this thing is a great workhorse so far
