I promised pictures of my Gehl with the Power-trac mower when I figured out how to use the digital camera. Here is one now and I will include others as time allows and if there is any interest. (Hope you don't mind my posting in the Power-trac forum. Seems the best place to be under the circumstances and the similarity of the two front loaded attachment tractors) I am just going to close my eyes now and push the ''submit'' button and see what happens.

Nice picture and great adaptation of the PT mower. How does the mower work for you? Are you satisfied with the result?

Mower works well. I am very satisfied with the cut from the 60'' power-trac.
As you can see, I did add wheels to the rear. I was having problems with the
rigid wheels cutting into the turf. I had to make a cut at the back of the deck (semi-circle) on each side to clear the wheels when they spin around.
Doesn't seem to make any difference in the cut. (I was worried that it might
interfere with the lift when mowing)

I'd say if your using a Power Trac mower and the machines are close in nature this would be the place to post some pictures. After all with the mower attached it is part PT... :D Keep em comin..

I had thought about swivel wheels on the finish mower but it seems that the mower fits too close to the pt machine for that. How far did you have to cut into the finish mower with the semicircles inorder for them to swivel? how close to the front tires on your machine to the swivel wheels? Is there a chance that the tractor wheels and the casters hit each other , say forinstance if you were at the top of a bank with the mower dropping over the bank? That would be a good improvement on the pt if it would work on our machines.

I had to change the Power-trac mount to work with my tractor. It needed to be much lower. When I changed that, it was an easy matter to space the
mower out away from the front, to keep the rear casters from hitting the front wheels on the tractor.
I cut about 4'' out at the back of the mower deck so the wheels could
swivel without hitting. Afterward, I discovered that I could have cut less
because I used much smaller wheels that originally planned.
The picture shows the new mount system (actually a truck hitch mounted
upside down and some 2'' hitch parts). Not pretty, but it does work.

That's brilliant! You even get height adjustment, if needed.

All the best,

Peter

TRUCKFXR,

Which model Gehl is that? How does it perform on slopes? Did it come with front Hyd, PTO?

You and I gotta talk! I'm looking at Kubota R420S ; or a Gehl now to replace the PT, if the attachments will mod over, we might take the plunge.

Altavista You are getting out of your PT? I figured you finally had it dialed in. What is happening?

Its still running too hot. It blew a hyd. hose last week, and still leaks hyd oil from the pressurized box do-hickey, even after reaplacing the whole fitting (thanks to terry who has been great to work with).

Last thing now is to track down a sandwich adaptor (amsoil maybe?) plumb in an auxilary oil cooler for the engine. Our bush hogging work is piling up. :(

We might have to retire the PT for yard work here at my home; moving mulch around, turning compost, tilling garden, light loading, etc. and buy a more dependable machine for customer work.

I'd absolutely love to trade it for a 2445, or simialr machine with a back hoe.

The Kubota I'm looking at has a back hoe, but it can't bush hog. So I'm thinking hard on what to do.
