Yesterday, while I was out mowing, I couldn't resist taking pictures of the Maximilian Sunflowers that suddenly erupted into bloom in many places on my property. Some of the stalks will grow to 8' tall and then fall over under the weight of all the blooms. The attached photo is one of three showy groups growing within 10 feet of each other. You'd think it was spring instead of fall with so many blooms.

Nice pictures, Jim! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The wife, Mother-in-Law and I on Saturday went over to a local botanical garden called Rotary Gardens Rotary Gardens to enjoy their HarvestFest activities. It is unbelievable how beautiful it is.

As we were walking around, I told the wife that I was going back to the van to get camera so I could take some pictures to post on TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif She said that the camera wasn't in the van. She'd left it in her office because it needed to be recharged! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My wife's the greatest, but one thing she's never quite figured out is that rechargeable batteries need to be put into the recharger to get recharged! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Every time I go to use one of our drills (that always mysteriously end up living in her van!), it gives me about 2 turns and then just whimpers a little bit!

Anyway, I was going to post some nice pictures myself this morning, but......

Thanks again for the pics! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the link, Gary. My home dial-up is a little slow, but I'll have a look tomorrow at work where we have a T1 line. Thanks also for your compliments. I've taken to looking for the unusual or showy flower displays and it seems there is something different here for almost every season. Also, I got my girlfriend a digital camera for her birthday, so we both go shooting photos together. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I've found if you look close enough, you can almost always find something interesting to take a picture of. I just can't carry the camera with me all the time though. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
