I'm investigating possible solutions for an alternative for tire chains for my L3830 with R4.
I found the MaxiGrip which seems to be a nice solution. Before committing I would like to see if anybody as experience with these. In particular are they good only for ice or also for general field/logging work? how is the condition od the tires after they are remoed? Thanks for the inputs. I hope that you don't ever intend to drive it on a hard surface again.In some states it is illegal to use them on a blacktop road after a certain month of the year. In NY it is April thru Nov.

Ouch, they look nasty. I'd go with the aqualne (sp?) CUT chains I posted on the other thread. They have a lot of clearance on the side and face. There is a picture of them on the website I posted. They cost a fortune in your size however.
