Anticipating what is in store for this little tractor, I took some preemptive action to avoid completely destroying the bucket.

Very nice! Ive got 52 hours on my Max 28.... I'm not careless (I love my tractor) but work it hard and the bucket is beat up pretty good (upper edge - pushing trees over)! Smart thinking on your part! Again - nice!

It all looks good except I don't understand what the angle iron at the lower rear of the bucket is turn upside down for. Not knowing how you use that bucket makes me wonder how that makes it more useful.
This is NOT criticism. I just am curious as to how that will be used.
I should follow your lead and beef up my Kubota's bucket as well before I damage it.

I would guess that its for back-dragging with the bucket?

This is the third bucket I have that I added the scraper.

As long as you are reasonable about catching big rocks and immoveable objects, the fulcum point with an edge on the back of the bucket puts less stress on the loader while backdragging. the scraper on my L39 bucket is 1" thick with a repaceable hardened edge. in 8 (2000 hours) years of use I'm on my second edge.

I never notice the edge while digging.

Never seen anyone tear up the original bucket on a 28 but looks good either way
