I have been shopping new tractors and found a NEW 2013 1758HL open station. The dealer is hot to move it.
They gave me a price of $26,000. Retail is $39K
I can buy a brand new 2017 LS XR4155 for the same price.
The Massy has no rear remotes. LS the remotes are standard.
They said the remote kit for the Massy is $2000 and they would split the price for them.
What do you guys think? Is the Massy a better tractor? It is 4 years old, new on the dealer lot.
I don't have time to go look at it, its 7hrs away from me.
I am waiting for the LS dealer to get their new stock in so I can go try one on. The LS dealer is 3hrs away.
I am leaning towards the LS, newer unit, dealer is closer, no need to add remotes.
Has anyone run both of these and found one better than the other?

I can not comment on the LS tractor as I have never personally been up close and looked at or operated one. A lot of people on here have great things to say about them. I have operated a Massey 1643 that my Dad and Uncle bought new. It is a solid tractor. Very strong for a 43 HP. The loader is awesome. I can only assume that the 1758 will be the same way except stronger. I would not worry about distance. When I bought my new tractor it was 6 hours away. 11 years later and still satisfied with the purchase. It was only a year old new but I got a great deal on it. I really think Massey is building quality tractors right now. I know if I was in the market to buy one right now I would be at my local Massey dealer checking them out.

I just bought a new MF 1758 H, and I really know very little about tractors. The MF came recommended from a few people who knew tractors and what I needed to do. I'm pretty remote, and had a Kubota dealer only 20 miles away, but still went with the MF based on reading and referrals. I'm pretty early in ownership, but so far it's been solid, and everything I want. I bought it site unseen off the dealer lot. It has a loader and I got a woods grapple and pallet forks with it. So far so good.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to TBN!

There is a ton of good information here, take some time to read your manual and feel free to ask questions, that's how you'll learn.

What are your primary uses for your new tractor?

We bought 14 acres in Colorado recently. I thought I might be able to get buy without a tractor, but just wasn't happening. Mostly maintaining the property, clearing pines & oak brush, driveway maintenance, snow, and general utility stuff. Already got a lot of good info here...thanks.

Congrats on your purchase. You will get many happy years of use out of that tractor. Now its time to save up for all the expensive attachments that are to follow. LOL

Yeah - that's become my new past time - trying to figure out what attachments I need. Very confusing!

Have a 1758 MF with Hydro. What is your experience with Using loader or pulling heavier loads in mid range hydro? Mine seams to have limited torque and will not load engine in mid range. Will not slip tires in 2 wheel drive on grass in mid range, Hydro just slips. Have to shift to low range then and limited to 3.5 MPH. The reason I bought a hydro is so I did not have to shift.
Have a 58 HP tractor that can't Pull/push heavier loads anything faster than 3.5 MPH. What is your experience when using with hydro in Mid Range?
